Response to Class Lecture- History of Magazines

We discussed the history of magazines last class, which was pretty interesting and I enjoyed learning about it. Who knew that so many innovations like photojournalism and investigative journalism first appeared in magazines? I have watched the news for many years now, and I had assumed that these two types of journalism had always been around. It was very interesting to hear about how much magazines had helped shape the United States and our culture, since nowadays it is a common sight in stores and something that we take for granted.
